Kitney & Kidney

Births, Deaths & Marriages
(includes Baptisms &Burials)

The various pages of records have been extracted from various Parish records (particularly (Kent) and the IGI.

Because of the interest in the KIDNEY family as well as KITNEY, I have included information on this family.  The lists include some births, baptisms, marriages and for the KIDNEY family taken from the IGI, a list of birth/baptisms, marriages and families grouped according to parents.  There is also a list of KIDNEY Burials.

It may be of interest to family researchers that some family trees supplied by family members show KITNEY families with KIDNEY children and KIDNEY families with KITNEY children.  In fact two families have children of both surnames, possibly arising from problems with pronunciation or spelling in the parish records.

Sometimes if there were families with similar names in the village, the priest spelt the names differently to tell the families apart.

If you have any additions for this list would you please forward it to my email address.  My email address is at the bottom of the Index Page

The following is a list of sources of additional information for B, D and M.  The keepers of these indexes provide information for a fee.  I haven't used their services, so I don't know how much information they can provide.

Marriages

Mr. Michael  J Gandy, 3 Church Crescent, Whetstone, London, N20 0JR, UK.

I think they all still have a £5 minimum charge. Mr. Smith will also
supply lists of all marriages of a surname over a range of dates at an
additional 50p per entry which is useful if you have an uncommon name.

Mr Smith is a professional genealogist and member of AGRA. He also has a
large number of register transcripts of baptisms and burials for West Kent
and about 50 parishes in East Kent.

Burials
There is also a Burial Index for East Kent 1813-1841 held by:
David Wright, 71 Island Wall, Whitstable, Kent, CT5 1EL, UK.
This is phonetic to group spelling variants and costs £5 (minimum) for
first 10 entries and 50p per additional entry.

Baptisms
There is a baptism index for West Kent 1813-1840 held by:
Matthew J Copus, 58 Thorold Road, Chatham, Kent, ME5 7EB, UK.

Census
Mr Copus also has a 1851 census index for West Kent.

The 1851 census index for East Kent is held by the Institute of Heraldic
and Genealogical Studies, Northgate, Canterbury, CT1 1BA, UK.
